Duke Ellington was the Jazz leader for the band he was worked hard but you know what they say about greatness it thrives under presure. One of the best saxophonist was Johnny Hodges. After Duke left to show his skills in other ways they got Cab Calloway. Who some say got the job through mafia urging. Although Cab was not a musician of Cabs caliber he did have a flair that made the audience join in the show and they loved it.
But not all great things could last it eventually closed, after Cab's time.
